Clinical Psychologist
Michel has worked in public and private mental health settings for more than twenty years providing assessment and treatment for various disorders and problems that present in adults, children and adolescents. The disorders include, anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, trauma, eating disorders, adjustment disorders, personality disorders, somatic disorders, anger, stress and relationship problems.

Early in her career, she worked in Child and Adolescent psychiatry at a large public hospital. The treatment program was for children and adolescents diagnosed with depression and associated disorders. Family sessions were also part of the program.

Later, she worked in adult psychiatry with a multidisciplinary team providing assessment and treatment for a wide range of mental health disorders that present across the life span. Her work also included secondary consultation and education to general practitioners and allied health for management of mental health disorders that commonly present in primary care settings.

While she has extensive training in cognitive behaviour therapy, she draws on other evidence-based treatments. She also has an interest and training in clinical hypnosis. Moreover, Michel prefers a collaborative and flexible approach to accommodate individual differences such as learning style, personality and neurodivergence.

When Michel is not working as a psychologist, she is a busy mother and grandmother with interests and hobbies (incl., self-defence and yoga) that keep her well-connected to her local community.
